👑 About the Pageant
The Miss Pestova Pageant is a heartfelt and high-energy celebration of queer beauty, debut drag, and community love.
Created in tribute to the late Daniella Pestova, this annual celebration brings together Cape Town’s LGBTQIA+ and drag and ally’s community for a fun, inclusive showcase of first-time performers and up-and-coming drag artists. Historically, the pageant was born in honour of Daniella’s memory and emphasizes joy, creativity, and self-expression over traditional beauty standards.
Miss Pestova welcomes contestants who have never held a queen/princess title before—especially those entering drag for the first time. All body types and gender expressions are encouraged. The pageant prides itself on creating a playful and supportive stage for “newbies” to freely explore drag artistry Daily Voice.
