Hosted by Terry Fortune, this popular concert series continues to showcase artists whose experience, passion and stage presence have made a lasting contribution to South African entertainment.
Golden Oldies returns to Christ Church Constantia for another unforgettable afternoon of live music on Sunday, 2 August at 3:00pm.
Hosted by well-known entertainer Terry Fortune, this is the 83rd Golden Oldies concert in a series that has delighted audiences at venues including Kirstenbosch, the Baxter Theatre, Artscape and numerous jazz festivals across the Western Cape. The series celebrates performers whose years of experience continue to inspire audiences through exceptional musicianship and memorable performances.
This special concert features an outstanding lineup of celebrated Cape Town artists:
- Leslie Kleinsmith, renowned for Tony Schilder classics including Montreal and Give Me Loving.
- Madeegha Anders, acclaimed for her performances in the iconic musical District Six.
- Candice Thornton, one of Cape Town’s exciting rising vocal talents.
- Ian Smith, legendary trumpeter, vocalist and band leader whose contribution to South African jazz spans decades.
Adding even more significance to the afternoon, Terry Fortune, Leslie Kleinsmith and Madeegha Anders all performed in David Kramer and Taliep Petersen’s legendary 1987 production of District Six, making this concert a celebration of both Cape Town’s musical heritage and its enduring performers.
