Two of a Kind

Two of SA’s much-loved brothers, Loukmaan and Emo Adams, return to the Baxter Concert Hall this festive season for an unforgettable showcase of music, dance and comedy, Two of a Kind, from 20 to 31 December.

Embrace the festive spirit with two of South Africa’s beloved brothers, Loukmaan and Emo Adams, as they reunite for the highly anticipated show, Two of a Kind, at the Baxter Concert Hall. The limited season runs from 20 to 31 December 2023 at 8pm, with selected matinees at 4pm on 23 and 24 December and a New Year’s Eve performance on 31 December at 9pm.

The production played to sensational success in Johannesburg earlier this year with rave reviews from audiences and press. The show has garnered significant attention, selling over 2 000 tickets during its nation-wide tour, which concludes with this season at The Baxter.

Two of a Kind features a live band, dancers and special guests, the award-winning actors and vocalists, Rushney Furguson and Edith Plaatjies, who join the Take Note band, enhancing the experience and providing the perfect way to bid farewell to the year. It is a vibrant celebration of the enduring bond between the two famous brothers, as they entertain audiences with their signature style of blending music, comedy and dance.

The dynamic duo gained fame when they were still teenagers in the 80s, performing in David Kramer and Taliep Petersen’s hit musicals, District Six – The Musical and Kat and the Kings. Since then, they have gone on to carve hugely successful careers for themselves over the years, individually and as a pair. Their production of Brother Love premiered at The Baxter in 2011 to sold out success and returned within six months, testament to its popularity.

They have both gratefully acknowledged that it was the training and experience that they gained by working with Kramer and Petersen for so many years, that gave them the foundation on which to build their own careers.

Two of a Kind is a nostalgic journey, acknowledging that, no matter the passage of time, they will always be their father’s children. This heartfelt sentiment emphasises the enduring connection within the Adams family. Emo’s playful antics, driving Loukmaan to the brink, add a delightful and humorous touch to the evening.

The show promises to be the perfect family festive ‘jol’, offering a unique opportunity for audiences to witness the playful and energetic dynamic between the brothers. Emo’s mischievous charm and Loukmaan’s comedic reactions ensure an evening filled with entertainment and nostalgia.

Early booking is highly recommended. Ticket prices range from R180 (weekdays) to R200 on weekends and booking is through Webtickets online (www.webtickets.co.za) or at Pick n Pay stores. Or ring in the New Year when the performance will start at 9pm and join the festivities in the foyer after the show.
