A fourth-generation descendent of a Cape Slave share her roots, heritage, and culture. An experience where you will uncover and taste family recipes passed down the generations in the host’s home. Where you will learn how the brinjal/eggplant was prepared in a specific recipe by this family accompanied by a long-standing Atchar recipe also by the family. This Cultural Tourist Guide will share her Cape Malay heritage and love for cooking and baking which she learned from her two grandmothers.
Price is for adults 18 and older, children under 18 pay R250. Caution for any allergies (eg spices) inform the host on booking of any allergies you may have. Also, note all bookings and payments to be made 48 hours in advance of the day of the experience.
