Get ready for an extraordinary evening of glamour, laughter and world-class entertainment as the Absolutely Fabulous Drag Show (ABFAB) returns to the Artscape Theatre on 7 and 8 August 2026.

One of Cape Town’s most anticipated annual productions, ABFAB Drag Show Cape Town celebrates the city’s rich drag heritage while showcasing some of South Africa’s finest drag artists in a spectacular theatrical production. From breathtaking costumes and electrifying performances to music, comedy and dazzling choreography, this show is a vibrant celebration of creativity, diversity and self-expression.

Cape Town has a proud drag history dating back to the 1930s, with District Six recognised as one of the country’s most important centres for drag performance and LGBTQIA+ expression. The 2026 production is dedicated to the memories of Soli Philander and Alfred Rietman, celebrating their lasting contributions to South African theatre and entertainment.

Presented as part of the Artscape Women’s Humanity Festival, ABFAB continues to highlight inclusivity, creativity and the important role that drag performers have played in Cape Town’s cultural landscape.
